Verdict
š¢ Lab Approved
This espresso shot mirror earned a permanent place on our coffee bench.
Although it's not an essential espresso tool, it quickly became one of those accessories we found ourselves using every day. Being able to watch a bottomless extraction without bending down makes diagnosing puck preparation much easier and it's simply enjoyable to use.
What We Liked
- Strong magnetic base that stayed securely in place.
- Smooth adjustable arm with good range of movement.
- Easy to position for different espresso machines.
- Makes it easy to monitor extractions in real time.
- Also useful for checking the cleanliness of the shower screen and group head.
Things to Know
An espresso shot mirror won't improve your espresso on its own. Instead, it helps you observe your extraction so you can identify issues like channelling or uneven flow while standing comfortably at your machine.
We also found ourselves using it during cleaning, as it makes it much easier to spot coffee residue around the shower screen and group head.
Would We Recommend It?
Yes.
This is one of those accessories that feels like a luxury at first, but quickly becomes something you miss when it's not there. It's well made, easy to position and genuinely useful for anyone using a bottomless portafilter.
Lab Notes
We honestly expected this product to be rejected.
It looked like one of those accessories that gets plenty of attention online but doesn't add much value in practice. After two weeks of daily use, our opinion completely changed.
While it's not an essential purchase, it made diagnosing espresso extractions easier, improved our workflow and even helped during machine cleaning. It comfortably earned a permanent place on our coffee bench.
